A Child Disclosed They Have Been Abused

If you know a child has been abused or assaulted, or if you suspect that a child is currently in danger, you have an obligation to inform the appropriate authorities.

At the Durham Rape Crisis Centre, we realize that this can often be a difficult choice. We can provide information and support during this process if needed. However, if you are comfortable filing the report on your own, please use the contact information below:

Durham Children’s Aid Society (24/7): 905-433-1551

Durham Regional Police: 9-1-1 or 905-579-1520

At the Durham Rape Crisis Centre, we can also provide ongoing support and counselling for caregivers of a child who has been abused.
