Individual Counselling Services
The Durham Rape Crisis Centre provides free and confidential and trauma informed individual counselling (up to 16 sessions) to women and who identify as women who are survivors of sexual violence, live in the Durham Region, and are 16 years of age or older.
We currently have six full time counsellors specialized in the field of trauma and violence against women. Appointments are available Monday – Friday between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm. Evening appointments may be available upon request. (Schedules permitting)
You are welcome to bring a service animal or support person to your counselling appointments if that helps you feel more comfortable.
At this time we do have a wait-list. However, you can access our Interim Counselling Program, which can provide you with 1-3 sessions while you are waiting for your 16 sessions.
If you are not sure if you qualify for our services, or aren’t sure if you’re ready for individual counselling, feel free to call us and talk it over.
