Individual Counselling Services

The Durham Rape Crisis Centre provides free, confidential, and trauma-informed individual counselling (up to 16 sessions) to women-identifying people who are survivors of sexual violence, live in the Durham Region, and are 16 years of age or older.

Our counselling staff specialize in the field of trauma and violence against women. You are welcome to bring a service animal or support person to your counselling appointments if that helps you feel more comfortable.

Appointments are available Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am to 5pm. Evening appointments may be available upon request, schedules permitting. At this time we do have a waitlist, however, you can access our Interim Counselling Program, which can provide you with up to 5 sessions while you are waiting for your 16 sessions. While on our waitlist, you are also able to register for any of our Group Counselling Programming.

If you are not sure if you qualify for our services, or aren’t sure if you are ready for individual counselling, feel free to contact us at 905-444-9672 or at info@drcc.ca.
